Description: In 2011 I heard the statement "Girls Cannot Be What They Cannot See". It was so powerful as I related the words to myself and my youth. I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with it but after asking permission to use the statement from Ana Marie Chavez, the CEO of Girl Scouts, I envisioned Latinas First Foundation. I asked Meshach Rhoades to be my Co-Founder and together we have built an organization which provide future Latina leaders an opportunity to reach their fullest potential through scholarships, mentorship and sponsorship. This month we will host over 750 guests at the Seawell Ballroom and award 30 scholarships. On May 3rd we will launch a campaign called 20/20 and hope to raise close to $500,000 which will enable us to award full four year scholarships. A game changer for our community!
