Addressing Ageism in Healthcare Training

January 31 @ 11:00 am - 12:45 pm MST

There is an urgent and ongoing need for increased awareness and education on ageism in healthcare. Join the growing anti-ageism movement to improve the health outcomes of older adults and learn how to become a better provider during patient interactions.

By attending this educational program, you will:

  • Increase your awareness about the negative impacts ageism has on the health of older adult patients
  • Recognize your own ageist beliefs and learn how to demonstrate non-ageist communications and behaviors with older adult patients

Registered Nurses: Changing the Narrative will provide 2.0 Continuing Education Credit Hours for RNs from all 50 states upon full participation in the ageism in healthcare training and completing the post-test activity (with a minimum score of 75%).*

The training will consist of a presentation, self-reflection, polling, breakout sessions, and questions and answers at the end.

We highly recommend that all healthcare professionals participate.

Note: Prework is required. After registering, you will receive an email with instructions and a link to a 16-minute video about ageism in healthcare to lay the foundation for training. Please make time to watch the video and note your responses. Bring your notes to our live session on Wednesday, January 31st.

*This nursing continuing professional development activity was approved by Colorado Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
